As every year, on the last Sunday before Christmas the Citadel of Namur attracted numerous spectators to the track, which had been softened by last week’s rain. And as always, the spectators should be offered epic races.<\/p>\n

Let there be mud<\/h2>\n

Throughout the previous week, heavy rainfall had ensured that the loamy ground on the slopes of the citadel had been appropriately muddy. But not only that, deep clouds didn’t promise much good for the race day itself. And indeed the whole day was accompanied by extensive rainfalls.<\/p>\n

Es ist immer sehr nahe am k\u00fcrzesten Tag des Jahres, und die waldigen Passagen auf dem Hang der Zitadelle sind grunds\u00e4tzlich nicht gerade vom Licht verw\u00f6hnt. Da helfen anhaltende Regenf\u00e4lle nicht unbedingt weiter. Aber auf der anderen Seite bietet kaum ein Rennen im Kalender so hervorragende Motive die Intensit\u00e4t und Schwierigkeiten des Crosssports ins Bild zu setzen.<\/p>\n
